Accutane

Those who suffer with moderate to severe cystic or modular acne know all too well the pain and discomfort of this skin condition. Without appropriate treatment, acne can cause lasting scars, both physical and emotional.

If other treatments have not worked, your dermatologist may prescribe Accutane, a clinically proven acne medication. This oral retinoid works deep in the pores to stop acne at the source, preventing the sebaceous glands from producing the sebum that causes breakouts.

Mohs Surgery

Mohs surgery is the treatment of choice for the most commonly diagnosed forms of skin cancer. Although a skin cancer diagnosis can be scary, Mohs surgery has an up to 99% success rate.

During Mohs surgery, the doctor excises small amounts of tissue at a time from the affected area, checking the removed tissue under a microscope for cancerous cells. The result is total removal of the skin cancer with shorter recovery times and minimal-to-no scarring.

Skin Cancer Screenings

Your two best defenses against skin cancer are sun protection and your yearly skin cancer screening. This painless examination allows your dermatologist to catch signs of developing skin cancer long before the cancerous cells have a chance to spread and become a much more serious medical problem.

If you notice the sudden appearance of or changes in the size, color, or shape of marks of growths on the skin, make sure to schedule a skin cancer screening right away.

Cosmetic Dermatology

You need not go “under the knife” to achieve subtle yet transformative results. Are you hoping for a more radiant complexion? Craving more youthful appearance? Just looking for a boost of confidence? Your aesthetic goals may be more attainable and affordable than ever thanks to the rapidly evolving field of cosmetic dermatology.

A consultation with your board-certified dermatologist can help you decide upon the right treatments to reach your vision. Together, you will choose from an array of options available at Certified Dermatology, including laser treatments, injectables, fillers, scar removal, and much more. Schedule your appointment to learn more about the possibilities.
